The only way to kill the Manananggal is the keep it separated from its lower body until daybreak. If is not reunited with its lower half, it will die. According to locals ash, salt and garlic act as a repellant to this monster, similar to the effects of holy water has on vampires. They keep bottles of this natural repellant around their homes to keep the Manananggal at bay.
Upon, finding her sleeping victim, a Manananggal opens its mouth and unleashes its long tongue with a hollow needle tip. The needle is used to puncture the navel of the still sleeping prey and suck the blood of the unborn infant; truly a vile creature.

Manananggal
The Manananggal is a horrifying, flying creature. By day, it is a beautiful woman. However, by night the beautiful woman transforms into a hideous creature when it rubs a mysterious oil all over their body. The creature grows bat-like wings and then its upper torso separates from the lower half of its body. Once the Mananangal is transformed, she begins to hunt for her favorite meal; pregnant women.
Tiyanak
A Tiyanak is an infant-like creature of Philippine origin. Adult humans are the live prey of the Tiyanak. The legend says the Tiyanak is an aborted fetus taking revenge on the living for not being given its chance at life.
Others believe the Tiyanak is a baby that died without being baptized and its soul was taken to hell. Once in hell, it was transformed into a demonic child.
Locals believe the Tiyanak reside in forests. When the monster spots their victims, they transform into a helpless baby crying, alone in the woods. Naturally, ones instinct is to pick up and console the child; that is when the Tiyanak strikes.
