After confessing, Dahmer was found competent to stand trial and was sentences 16 life imprisonment terms plus 70 years. He was murdered in prison on the morning of November 28, 1994 by fellow inmates.
At just 18 years old the young Dahmer committed his first of many murders. He picked up a hitchhiker, 18 year old Steven Mark Hicks, on his way to a rock concert. He invited him to his home for some drinking and hanging out. When Hicks tried to leave he was attached with a dumbbell. Once unconscious, Dahmer strangled him with the same dumbbell. He them stripped Hicks dead body nude and masturbated over him. Once he was finished with the corpse he stashed it in his crawl space, later burying the remains in his backyard. He later exhumed the remains, separated the flesh from bone and dissolved the flesh in acid. The bones were pulverized with a sledge hammer.
On July 22, 1991 Dahmer was finally caught after an unsuccessful murder attempt. The victim, Tracey Edwards escaped after punching his attacker in the face and running for the door. He flagged police down telling them of Dahmers strange behavior and even stranger apartment. They accompanied the victim back to the apartment to investigate. Police first noted the strange odor in the apartment. Upon following Dahmer to his bedroom they discovered photos of human bodies in various stages of dismemberment. They then found a freshly severed head in the refrigerator. A full search of the dwelling rendered:
From 1978 to 1991 Milwaukee based serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, killed 17 men and boys. He raped, murder and dismembered his victims. As his murder spree continued, he later began cannibalizing his victims. Dahmer’s parents, Lionel and Joyce, claim he was a seemingly happy, normal child. After he had hernia surgery at the age of 6, his personality slowly began to change. He became withdrawn an expressionless. He was known to be a loner by his high school peers. Upon realizing he was a homosexual he delved deeply into alcohol calling it his “medicine”.
